I'm now the proud owner of a purple orchid like the one pictured above (Maybe even this very one?) purchased at Folk Fest. I love how it captures the light. I've only been at work for an hour and have received three compliments on it already!
I'm looking forward to seeing you at the craft show in the fall. I think all the women in my family will be getting one of your creations for Christmas this year.
Thanks, Liane! Yes, it would be that one; I photographed them before they were finished into pendants. :) I'm so thrilled to hear how much you're enjoying it. I look forward to trying a few more versions... Possibly even in colours other than purple! I feel like I've moved to a new level with my florals recently so I'm really excited to create for the November Signatures show. I look forward to seeing you there!
Andrea Steinwand and Heather Stewart are the Winnipeg-trained, Ottawa-based couple who provide the heat behind Hearts of Glass. Using a blazing blue torch flame, the pair explore the ancient art of lampworking - shaping small wearable talismans out of molten glass.
